Our Story

A Father & Son Team & a Legacy of Craftsmanship

Landscaping has always been a family craft. Ruben (father) started in the trade at 25, and at 52, he's still out in the field doing what he loves. Growing up alongside his dad on job sites, Mike (son) fell in love with transforming backyards and seeing the joy it brought homeowners.

Wanting to master the trade, Mike spent years working as a foreman and designer, put in time at a plant nursery, and earned industry certifications from Allan Block, Unilock, Belgard, and Techo-Bloc.

By 2020, Mike was tired of companies rushing work and failing to appreciate true craftsmanship. Unwilling to compromise on quality, he teamed up with his dad, Ruben, to launch Black Oak Hardscapes.

Today, this father-son duo runs their business on two rules they'll never break: customer satisfaction is #1, and quality is the direct result of that commitment.
